Left of the Dial is a recording facility owned by Recording Engineer Rob Stevens. The studio has seen several incarnations including a commercial location on Central Avenue in Charlotte North Carolina. The current facility is located in Fort Mill South Carolina just south of Charlotte’s Ballantyne area.
The goal at Left of the Dial is to offer up something entirely different than all the ubiquitous digital home setups that have overtaken the recording market during the last 10 or so years.
We offer a 100% true analog recording path through our spectacular Neotek Elite large format analog console directly to our Studer A800 2-inch analog 24-track tape machine. We mix down to 2-track analog tape through excellent analog outboard equipment.
Of course the studio is also digital capable using Apple Logic via 16 discrete 192K/24 bit channels of digital I/O as well as 2 channels of Apogee digital I/O at 96K/24 bit.
Our rates are very affordable and include a staff engineer. Rob can also be hired to run sessions during evenings and weekends at only a slightly higher rate.
Shoot rob an email at email@example.com to get rate information.
Operating times are flexible. Generally an 8-hour day would be 10am to 6pm and an evening session would be from 6 to 10pm. Minimum session time for a day session is 4 hours and 2 hours for an evening session.
